Host Alert is an event discovery platform designed specifically for short-term rental hosts. We help you stay informed about major events near your properties so you can optimise pricing and maximise bookings during high-demand periods
We currently cover all the UK with expansion into Europe and North America planned soon after. When adding your property, you can see that your location is supported. Can’t find your area? Contact support and we’ll prioritise it!
Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-right corner, then select “My Properties”. Click “Add New Property” and follow the onboarding flow to set up each location. You can manage unlimited properties, each with its own notification settings and subscription.
High-impact events are major occurrences that significantly increase accommodation demand in your area. These include concerts, festivals, sporting events, conferences, and public holidays. We use historical data and booking patterns to identify events that typically cause price surges of 50% or more.
Free users can access the calendar for 30 days in advance. Monthly subscribers get 3 months of calendar access, while annual subscribers can view events up to 12 months in advance. This gives you plenty of time to adjust pricing and block dates strategically.
Yes! Subscribers can save unlimited events and set custom reminders. Choose when you want to be reminded (1 day, 3 days, 1 week, or 1 month before the event) to ensure you never miss an opportunity to optimise your pricing.
Both plans give you access to the same features, but differ in how far ahead you can see events and the cost. Monthly plans give you a rolling 3-month view of upcoming events, while Annual plans extend that to a rolling 12-month view — giving you much more time to plan and adjust your pricing. Annual plans also save you 20% compared to paying monthly. Both options are available across all plan tiers.
No — your plan covers multiple properties based on the tier you choose. Solo Host covers 1 property, Host Plus covers 2, Prime Host covers 3, Power Host covers 4–5, and Portfolio/Channel Manager covers 6–15 properties. Simply pick the plan that matches how many properties you manage. All properties under your plan benefit from the same event alerts and features, regardless of whether they’re in the same area or different locations.
Yes — your subscription covers all your properties regardless of location. Simply choose the plan tier that matches how many properties you manage, and all of them are covered under a single subscription.
Go to Menu → Billing & Subscriptions, select the property, and tap “Cancel Subscription”. You’ll retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period. You can reactivate anytime.
Absolutely. We use industry-standard encryption and never store your full payment details on our servers. All transactions are processed through secure, PCI-compliant payment gateways.
Surge level indicates how likely an upcoming event is to affect booking demand near your property. It’s calculated using
event impact data, based on factors such as expected attendance, event type, venue size, event duration, and historical patterns.
HostAlert groups events into clear surge levels:
Lower-impact events are intentionally excluded to reduce noise and keep the focus on relevance.
HostAlert tracks local events across selected categories that are most likely to influence booking demand.
During setup, you choose which event categories you want to track, such as:
You can select all categories or only those relevant to your property.
Within your selected categories, HostAlert further filters events to focus on those more likely to influence booking demand.
Lower-impact events are excluded to reduce noise and keep the app focused on events worth reviewing. If you believe an event is missing, you can suggest an event from the side menu. Suggested events are reviewed and added where appropriate.
Events are shown based on the search radius set for your property. You choose this radius during setup, and HostAlert may suggest a recommended radius based on your location. You can update the radius at any time by going to My Properties, selecting your property, and editing the radius. Your event feed and alerts will update automatically.
HostAlert notifies you when an event is detected within your selected event categories and radius, or when key event details change such as a date change, location change, or cancellation.
The number of notifications depends on how many relevant events are announced or updated within your selected event categories and radius. HostAlert is designed to keep notifications relevant and avoid unnecessary noise.
Yes. HostAlert will notify you if an event is cancelled, rescheduled to a different date, or moved to a different location.
Changes to the time on the same day do not trigger notifications, as they typically don’t affect overnight stays.
To receive alerts, you need to be on a paid HostAlert plan, either monthly or annual. Once subscribed, you’ll be notified about events as they enter your plan’s visibility window and meet your selected settings.
Yes. You can update event categories at any time. Go to My Property, select your property, and edit your category preferences. This controls which events appear in the app and which events you may receive notifications for. Your event feed and alerts will update automatically.
Yes. You can set an area, town, or city location instead of a specific property address.
HostAlert uses best-in-class, enterprise-grade event data which is widely used across the travel and hospitality industry.
Events are continuously monitored and updated, with a focus on surfacing reliable, high-impact events that are relevant to booking demand.
You can suggest an event directly from the app. Suggested events are reviewed and added where appropriate, helping improve coverage for everyone using HostAlert. The Suggest an Event option is available in the side menu.
No. Events do not guarantee higher prices or bookings.
Events are indicators of potential demand only. Outcomes depend on factors such as property type, location, pricing, availability, and competition. HostAlert highlights opportunities to review, not results.
No. HostAlert does not automatically change prices. It provides insight and awareness so you decide whether to adjust pricing, minimum stay rules, or availability. All pricing decisions remain with the host.
HostAlert includes direct links to major booking platforms and channel managers, allowing you to open your listing straight from the app and update rates quickly. If a direct link isn’t available, you can still update rates using your usual pricing tool or platform.
No. HostAlert is not a smart pricing tool. HostAlert is designed to work alongside smart pricing tools and other pricing systems by providing event awareness and demand insight.
Many hosts use HostAlert in conjunction with pricing tools to understand why demand may increase on certain dates and decide whether any manual adjustments are needed.
Bookings alone don’t show whether you could review pricing around events or understand why demand exists. Many hosts are unaware of local events that may influence demand. HostAlert provides visibility so you can make more informed hosting and pricing decisions.
HostAlert can also help you:
It’s about awareness and context, not automation.
HostAlert is primarily designed for independent hosts and small to mid-size portfolios. It can also be useful for hotels or larger operators seeking event awareness alongside existing revenue systems.
HostAlert currently covers all locations across the UK, including cities, towns, villages, and surrounding areas. We will be in the USA and Europe soon!
